49ers Vs. Panthers MNF Preview: Betting & BTA Sports Model Projections

Week 12 wraps up on Monday night as the 49ers and Panthers square off, both still clinging to legitimate playoff aspirations despite up-and-down stretches throughout the 2025 season. San Francisco has shown flashes of high-level play but hasn’t found the week-to-week consistency expected of a contender. Carolina, meanwhile, has surprised at times and are fighting for their first playoff appearance since 2017.

Matchup Overview

Brock Purdy came back from injury and proved why he is the starting QB in San Francisco, dominating the Cardinals in a 41-22 victory. Of course, we can’t forget about Christian McCaffrey who leads all running backs in total yards per game (130.8). They face a Carolina defense that has struggled lately against opposing running backs.

The Panthers have been arguably the most surprising team this NFL season, currently 6-5 and just a win away from being on top of the NFC South. Bryce Young has found his stride, averaging a career-high 196.2 passing yards per game as well as a 2:1 TD/INT ratio. The emerging of Rico Dowdle has been outstanding, ranked 8th in rushing yards despite only starting 5 games this season.

Our model gives Dowdle a 68.25% chance of recording 15+ receiving yards tonight.

2. Jauan Jennings Over 39.5 Receiving Yards

Jennings struggled at the start of the season, but has found his stride lately. Our model gives Jennings a 63.25% chance of recording 40+ receiving yards tonight.

3. Xavier Legette Over 24.5 Receiving Yards

It’s been an up-and-down season for Xavier Legette, but he broke out last week with 83 yards and a touchdown. The 49ers have struggled lately against their opponent’s WR2, so expect Legette to get some action. Our model gives him a 61.60% chance of recording 25+ receiving yards tonight.
