The past weekend featured several of the best individual performances of the MLB season. Dominant starting pitching, multi-home run games, and complete offensive performances helped these five players separate themselves from the rest of Major League Baseball.

Dylan Cease delivered a complete-game gem, CJ Abrams powered the Washington Nationals with a huge series, and Cam Schlittler produced one of the strongest starts of his young career. Jeremy Peña and Jacob Misiorowski also delivered standout performances worthy of recognition.

1. Dylan Cease, Toronto Blue Jays

Dylan Cease delivered the best MLB performance of the past weekend with a dominant complete-game shutout against the Boston Red Sox.

Cease allowed only one hit across nine scoreless innings while recording 12 strikeouts and three walks in Toronto’s 6-0 victory. He threw 120 pitches and controlled the game from the opening inning through the final out.

Complete games have become increasingly rare in Major League Baseball, making Cease’s performance even more impressive. His ability to combine elite strikeout production, durability, and run prevention made him the clear No. 1 player from the past weekend.

2. CJ Abrams, Washington Nationals

CJ Abrams was one of the hottest hitters in baseball throughout the past weekend.

The Washington Nationals shortstop went 8-for-13 with four runs scored, three home runs, six RBIs, and one stolen base. Abrams recorded multiple hits in all three games and consistently created scoring opportunities for Washington.

His biggest game came in the series finale, when he finished 3-for-5 with two home runs and three RBIs in a 10-7 Nationals victory. He also homered and drove in three runs in the previous game.

Abrams combined contact, power, speed, and run production to deliver the most complete offensive performance of the MLB weekend.

3. Cam Schlittler, New York Yankees

Cam Schlittler turned in one of the most impressive pitching performances of the past weekend for the New York Yankees.

The right-hander threw 7⅓ scoreless innings against the Philadelphia Phillies, allowing only three hits while striking out 12 batters without issuing a walk. His dominant outing helped the Yankees earn a 1-0 victory.

With almost no run support and very little margin for error, Schlittler remained composed and kept Philadelphia’s lineup off balance throughout the game.

His combination of strikeouts, command, and scoreless innings made this one of the best starts of his young MLB career.

4. Jeremy Peña, Houston Astros

Jeremy Peña delivered consistent offensive production throughout the Houston Astros’ weekend series against the Chicago White Sox.

Peña went 8-for-14 with five runs scored and two home runs while recording multiple hits in all three games. He collected three hits in each of Houston’s first two victories before adding two solo home runs in the series finale.

His ability to reach base, hit for power, and produce from the top of the Astros lineup made him one of the top MLB hitters from the past weekend.

Even though Houston did not complete the sweep, Peña gave the Astros a reliable offensive spark in every game.

5. Jacob Misiorowski, Milwaukee Brewers

Jacob Misiorowski produced one of the most overpowering pitching performances of the MLB weekend for the Milwaukee Brewers.

Misiorowski struck out the first seven batters he faced and recorded 12 strikeouts against the first 13 hitters. He finished with five innings pitched, allowing only one run on one hit without issuing a walk in Milwaukee’s 11-2 victory.

The Brewers right-hander retired the first 14 batters he faced and overwhelmed Colorado with elite velocity and swing-and-miss stuff.
