Week 16’s FIQ Five: 5 Players To Optimize Your DFS Lineup

Discover BTA Sports’ top DFS picks for Week 16. Use our projections to maximize your daily fantasy lineup.

Week 16 sets up as a solid DFS slate, with a few games that could turn into shootouts and several players in great spots for big workloads. There are also some clear mismatches that create strong value across the board. Here are my top five DFS picks to build your Sunday lineup around.

1. QB Tyler Shough (Proj: 16.5 / DK $5,400)

Tyler Shough has made a late case for offensive rookie of the year, leading a struggling Saints’ team to 3 wins in their last 5 games. Currently riding a 2-game win streak, they face a Jets’ defense that just allowed 47.3 FPTS to QB Trevor Lawrence.

2. WR Nico Collins (Proj: 15.5 / DK $7,500)

Nico Collins has returned to his old self since C.J. Stroud returned under center, averaging 21.4 FPTS in the last 3 games. He gets a great matchup against Las Vegas, the 26th ranked secondary against WRs.

3. RB Jahmyr Gibbs (Proj: 15.5 / DK $8,500)

Jahmyr Gibbs struggled last week’s loss, only scoring 9.8 FPTS. However, he is the best RB in the league after losses. Since Week 6, the Detroit Lions have won every game after a loss, and Gibbs in averaging 44.1 FPTS in those wins. Regardless of his matchup, history is telling us to go all-in on Gibbs this week.

4. WR Keenan Allen (Proj: 14.2 / DK $4,800)

Keenan Allen hasn’t had the best season in terms of daily fantasy, averaging just 11.6 FPTS this season. However, he gets to play against the 32nd ranked defense in the league this week. With his high projection and cheap price, Allen is the perfect option to pair with the high value picks listed in this article.

5. RB Bucky Irving (Proj: 13.4 / DK $6,700)

Bucky Irving has had a modest return to injury, averaging 13.4 FPTS in the last 3 weeks. He gets to play a Carolina defense ranked 24th against RBs, a game that has major playoff implications. Last year, Irving dominated the Panthers, totaling 395 yards and a touchdown.
