For multiple years, there has been a lot of uproar about Maxx Crosby potentially landing with a team other than the Raiders. “There is a lot of interest in Maxx Crosby,” said the Raiders beat writer when discussing the Eagles’ and the 49ers’ interest in Crosby earlier this week. He then said the two teams are “nuclear hot” to get Crosby.
Maxx Crosby’s trade to the Ravens:
Earlier this offseason, the Ravens traded for Crosby. Baltimore traded two first-round picks for Maxx in 2026 and 2027. Crosby did not end up passing his physical, so Baltimore backed out of the biggest blockbuster trade of the 2026 offseason. It was said that, during the physical, the Ravens found that the status of Crosby’s knee was alarming, which led Baltimore to back out of the trade. Maxx had an offseason procedure done on his meniscus.
Crosby’s current contract:
Crosby is under contract with Las Vegas through the 2029 season. Maxx signed a three-year extension with the Raiders for $106.5 million. Crosby is getting $91.5 million in guaranteed money. Though the Raiders have extended Crosby, they still seem to be in the market for a trade to get first-round picks to build around the first overall pick, Fernando Mendoza.
Potential trade for Crosby
- Nolan Smith and a 2028 first-round pick from the Patriots
Less likely trade for Crosby
- Jalen Carter and a 2028 first-round pick from the Patriots
Final thoughts:
The Eagles have not paid Jalen Carter yet. There has been a lot of attention on that detail from the public, as it could result in him being sent to Las Vegas. However, I do not believe for a second that the Eagles would give up Jalen Carter that fast, especially not for a 28-year-old Maxx Crosby.
Eagles GM Howie Roseman is known for being able to manipulate cap space to keep a highly competitive team. With that said, I think we have a high chance of seeing Roseman keep Jalen Carter and get Maxx Crosby. If the 49ers do not trade for Crosby soon, I would expect him to be an Eagle this season.
