Schwarber and Harper Dominate Weekend

By

Phillies Duo Highlight Explosive Weekend

The weekend slate was built around star power, breakout swings, and one dominant arm that completely overwhelmed a lineup. Philadelphia supplied two of the loudest bats of the weekend, while Caglianone and Langford kept mashing in the middle of their lineups. On the mound, Cam Schlittler gave the Yankees the kind of swing-and-miss start that immediately jumps off the page.

1. Kyle Schwarber (Phillies)

Kyle Schwarber had the most explosive power weekend in baseball, hitting 4 home runs and 9 RBIs against the Mets. His Saturday performance was historic, as he went 4-for-5 with 3 home runs and 6 RBIs, including two homers in the same inning during Philadelphia’s 15-3 win. He followed that up with another homer on Sunday, giving him four long balls in two games and pushing him to an MLB-leading 29 home runs. When Schwarber gets locked in like this, he can carry an offense almost by himself.

2. Bryce Harper (Phillies)

Bryce Harper was right there with Schwarber, putting together one of the best all-around weekends of the season. He went 7-for-9 with 2 home runs and 4 RBIs, highlighted by his first career cycle on Saturday. Harper completed the cycle by the fifth inning, then came back Sunday and went 3-for-4 with another homer in Philadelphia’s 6-2 win. It was not just a power weekend, either. Harper hit for average, drove the ball to all parts of the field, and gave the Phillies constant traffic in the middle of the order.

3. Jac Caglianone (Royals)

Jac Caglianone gave Kansas City a huge power weekend, going 4-for-7 with 3 home runs and 5 RBIs against St. Louis. He homered on Friday, then exploded Sunday with another 2 home runs in a 12-10 loss. Even in a game Kansas City could not close out, Caglianone’s impact was impossible to miss. He was getting on base, doing damage when he got pitches to hit, and turning nearly every productive swing into extra-base power.

4. Cam Schlittler (Yankees)

Cam Schlittler delivered the top pitching performance of the weekend, shutting down Cincinnati with 6 scoreless innings, 4 hits allowed, 13 strikeouts, and 0 walks in a 5-0 Yankees win. His strikeout total was a career high, and the lack of free passes made the outing even cleaner. Schlittler’s fastball-heavy mix kept the Reds from building any rhythm, and he finished with 18 swings and misses while strengthening his case as one of the AL’s top arms. For a weekend filled with offense, his start still stood out as one of the most dominant performances on the slate.

5. Wyatt Langford (Rangers)

Wyatt Langford stuffed the box score for Texas, going 7-for-13 with 2 home runs and 7 RBIs against San Diego. He delivered run production in all three games, including a three-hit performance with a homer on Friday and a three-run shot on Sunday that helped the Rangers win 4-3. Langford’s weekend was exactly what Texas needed from the middle of the order. He hit for average, added extra-base damage, and consistently came through in RBI spots.
